Our Guidelines For Applying Mulch
- The recommended depth for mulch is 2 - 4 inches.
- We keep mulch at least 2 inches back from the trunks of trees and stems of shrubs. Mulch piled up against the trunks will encourage the growth of decay, disease and pests.
- At the beginning of the growing season, we apply 1 - 2 inches to compensate for decomposition of the mulch and to give it a fresh look.
Multiply the length in feet X the width in feet = area in square feet.
If the area you want to cover is not in straight lines, you will have to average the area.
