Oakridge Yard Care has performed extensive research into products to help your lawn, garden, shrubs and plants. Our #1 goal was to find products that are environmentally friendly and comply with the rules and regulations set forth by HRM. Perhaps more important they had to be products that were 100% safe for You, Your Children and Pets. The following are products we currently offer for your property, should you wish a different product applied, please let us know and we will research and ensure it complies with HRM.   Our company will only apply 100% Certified Organic Products. As such we have tried to explain each product in brief however we have complete details for each and the safety data sheets are available, just email and we would be happy to send them to you. Best of all any or all of these products ca be mixed and applied in one spray however not all lawns need each product.  Aerify Plus!  Aerify PLUS is the Ultimate Soil Conditioner. It loosens compacted and clay soils, and puts in organic ingredients that can help create humus, soil structure and soil bioactivity. Additionally, Aerify PLUS improves the health of all plants by providing Humic Acids and Kelp and an assortment of trace elements and micro-nutrients not found in common fertilizers. It can be used on lawns, trees, flowers and all garden areas. Aerify PLUS contains a soil penetrant that breaks apart tightly bonded soil particles and clay. This creates "space" in the soil, allowing roots, water and oxygen to permeate. Once you get oxygen into a compacted or clay soil, beneficial, humus-building microbes will be able to survive. These microbes are needed to turn old roots and organic matter into all-important humus. But they can't survive without air in the soil! Fertilizer All of our liquid fertilizers are supplemented with a natural nutrient package derived from Seaweed, Humic Acids, and Molasses. What this means to you is that you are getting a soil improving fertilizer with added vitamins, bio-stimulants, and trace elements. Each product contains vitamins B-1, B-12, gibberellins, indoles, auxins as well as trace elements of boron, iron, zinc, cobalt, copper, manganese, molybdenum and sulfur. Insect Guard & Insect Wipe Out  All gardeners and homeowners should know that there is an alternative to synthetic chemical insecticides, one they can confidently use on their grounds. Our Insect Guard is a blend of organic ingredients and scents, including garlic extract, that have been shown to repel harmful insects and thus protect plants, people and animals. This formulation has been used successfully around homes, zoos, municipal and private parks (including Busch Gardens), stables and farms. There is very little odor to this product, and it usually dissipates within an hour.  Garlic (cloves and juices) has long been recognized as an insect deterrent. Garlic also masks the parasite attracting signals (or auras) that plants emit. The concentrated garlic extract in Nature's Insect Guard is a more powerful form of garlic, so a little bit goes a long way. We have Organic Sprays that will control over 300 insects that destroy your lawn including Nematodes which feed on over 300 insects in your lawn that eat at grass roots yet these are 100% safe and they work very fast, in fact we sprayed one site which was 5 acres and full of grubs, grub eating animals and birds had almost destroyed the clients property, within 48 hours the grubs were dead and the animals had stopped digging for them, the birds and animals are still around however they are not digging in your lawn and destroying it. Natures Magic Nature's Magic is a blend of two of the best soil activators and plant health products in the world: Humic Acid (often called liquid humus) and Seaweed (kelp). It serves three major functions that result in better soil and plant health. Corn Gluten We found and started using Liquid Corn Gluten in the late summer as a weed control product, while the results were amazing, it is critical to start the process in the early spring, it is very hard to stop weeds mid summer at peak growing seasonal although we have had very good success.  Grown by nature, engineered for performance. LiquiGold™ is Canadian made, processed from Canadian grown corn. LiquiGold™ Biofertilizer is truly a plant based wonder. The ingredients in the product are protein powered nutrients which is a sprayable plant based arsenal to fertilize and thicken lawns to crowd out weeds. Corn gluten is a by-product of starch production, a renewable and environmentally conscious resource. Lawn Care We Offer Lawn mowing services as well or if you wish to mow your own lawn we suggest two key things. First is to mulch your clippings as the majority of the nutrents in your lawn are in the clippings, we also encourage every client to use Gator High Lift mulching blades, they are the best we could find and the price for your mower is very reasonable. In the spring and fall we offer leaf collection ad believe we are the only company in HRM with these collection units, in short for every 60 bags of leaves you would normally have, when we use our equipment you end up with a 20 to 1 reduction, we place the shredded leaves in a pile on your property and if you spray with an Organic Compost accelerator, you will have compost within a year.
